What does your job entail on a daily basis?
Designing buildings and solar panel systems, working out the logistics, putting together teams, and following the projects to ensure they are done correctly.
What is your educational background? Is there anything else that prepared you for this work, such as previous jobs or volunteer work?
After high school, I spent four years in the Air Force, then earned my Bachelor’s in Architecture at UNC Charlotte. During college, I visited five countries in Africa to study solutions in overpopulation, urban design, and efficiency in design.
What is your favorite part about working at IMA?
Being immersed in the Congolese culture and environment.
What is your most fond or poignant memory of working at IMA so far?
While riding a motorcycle through the equatorial rainforest visiting construction sites in rural villages, I realized how great my job is. This happens a lot actually.
Do you have a personal mantra, verse, or quote that inspires you in your work?
No, but the way that people are so patient and understanding in the worst of circumstances is inspiring.
If you have a day off, what are you most likely doing?
Playing soccer, or looking for nature to get in.
Is there anything else about you or your work that you’d like to share with the IMA family?
